Dear Alison,

When I think back to 1986 and my arrival as a very green aspirant to life as a brother in the Taizé Community, you were already there as part of the team of volunteers. I remember your kindness and your listening ear and especially a walk shortly before I entered the community where you were so encouraging.

You spent your time with the sisters in Ameugny, then discovered your path was elsewhere and we lost touch. But I never forgot those moments shared when we were journeying together.

Last December I was asked to take on a new responsibility in our Community. It has been a time of giving thanks for all the people who have accompanied me on this path. You are among them, you can be sure of that.
