I met Alison's parents through my friendship with Alison. Separately, my mother met Alison's parents partly through church and partly through the work of one of their members, who married someone my mother worked with. Through the Protestant connection, Alison's parents put my mother in touch with a family from another, non-Moravian church in Muswell Hill. They were looking for someone to live in the caretaker's flat above their church hall. My mother, along with me and my sister, was in desperate need of a place to live. Thanks to their thoughtfulness, my mother's prayers were answered and she lived in that flat for 8 years. Alison's warmth and generosity of spirit made these connections possible and many of us will be forever grateful.
